A Sense of completion

Goals, Teamwork and smiles

This week's subtrait was teamwork. It was the perfect trait to fit all of the activities that wee had planned for the week.

The teammates spent Monday adding the final details to their Election Quest for their exhibition on Tuesday. I honestly expected to see a lot of breakdowns and stress, but they were calm and asking questions to ensure completion.

Tuesday was the exhibition for Election Quest and the teammates were excited, nervous and anxious to show off their hard work. We had a few meltdowns, but the team was able to pull it together and complete their task. I was fascinated to see all of their hard work pay off. We received some great feedback from the community. One visitor said, "I did not know there were amendments on the ballot until I came here. These kids know so much."

Wednesday we had a field trip with LOOP NOLA to Bayou Sauvage. Every trip gives the teammates an opportunity to strengthen their communication skills, leadership skills and work together as a team. There is a jump rope challenge that the teammates have to complete as a team. They must strategize and implement their plan. On our last trip, this did not happen and the teammates failed at advancing to the next round. On this trip, they advanced to round three. They were so proud of themselves and celebrated their victory.

Thursday and Friday were routine days in our studio. The teammates are beginning to increase their stamina for working on core skills. I am glad to see that their progress is in their effort, and not just their completion.
