...And End Scene

Curtain Call

This was the last week of the second year! It was full of excitement, emotion, and growth. Each teammate has shown me the importance of being yourself and reaching your potential. I appreciate them for everything they have done, shown, and exemplified.

We wrapped up the last week with portfolio reviews. They were asked to create a digital portfolio of the work that they want to share with the public. There were so many questions about the quality of their work and who would see it. Once they overcame their fear of judgment and public opinion.

I loved how their portfolios captured their personalities. They shared some of their most intimate work that is not displayed in their exhibitions. This was their moment to shine, and they did just that.

If I could describe this year with one word it would be: accomplishment. I am not referring to just the academic accomplishment, but also personal growth. I have had the opportunity to watch many of them step out of their comfort zone. They took huge risks on allowing themselves to be vulnerable for the sake of learning. Not many children or adults are willing to do that. I am thankful for this opportunity to grow as a guide, mom, and friend.

Parents, thank you for allowing me to be a part of you and your child's hero's journey. I look forward to what is in store for next year.
